1 | Full-Service Media Production for a Full-Contact Sport
In 2024, Lone Star Drone had the unique privilege of serving as the official video sponsor of the Dallas Jackals of Major League Rugby. For a young franchise navigating the challenges of a growing league and limited resources, we were proud to step in - not for profit, but for passion. As lifelong rugby fans and strong advocates for the sport’s expansion in the United States, we saw an opportunity to give back to the game we love. That’s why we offered our full suite of media production services at a significantly reduced rate - because some things are worth supporting, win or lose.
2 | Media Day: Setting the Tone for the Season
As the official media team for the Dallas Jackals' 2024 season, we led the planning, production, and editing for the team’s full Media Day experience. This wasn't just a photo op - it was the foundation for every piece of player-facing content the organization used throughout the season.
We set up and operated multiple production stations, including:
Player Portraits
Clean, high-resolution stills of each athlete in full uniform, captured with studio lighting and consistent framing. These images were used across the team's website, broadcast overlays, digital programs, and press kits.
Stylized Video Headshots
Stylized video portraits that brought the players’ personalities to life; complete with a smoke machine and team colors. These clips were featured on the jumbotron during player introductions and across social media.
Q&A Stations
Interview setups designed to capture casual, authentic responses from players to use throughout the season. We recorded fun, engaging prompts as well as more serious, campaign-aligned messaging for use in promos and social storytelling.
Media Pack Delivery
All media was edited, color graded, and exported in multiple formats for use by the Jackals’ internal media team, stadium crew, and league partners. From the jumbotron to Instagram Reels, everything started with Media Day.
This all-in-one production day ensured the Jackals had a deep media library ready to deploy—no scrambling mid-season, no placeholder content. Just polished, on-brand visuals that helped the team look as professional as they played.
3 | Launching the Dallas Jackals Dancers
When the Dallas Jackals introduced their official dance team for the 2024 season, we were honored to lead the creative direction and production for their debut. From concept to final export, Lone Star Drone handled the entire process - ensuring the dancers’ first impression matched the energy and professionalism they brought to every game.
We directed a full, on location photo and video session, crafting cinematic visuals that showcased the team’s athleticism, spirit, and style. Using professional lighting, multi-cam setups, and dynamic staging, we captured a full media suite of portraits, motion shots, and group visuals.
In post-production, we edited a high-energy launch video and curated a full set of assets tailored for social media, the team's website, and stadium use. The final package gave the dancers the spotlight they deserved - and gave fans an exciting new way to connect with the Jackals experience on and off the field.
4 | Broadcast Commercials & Advertisements
To help the Dallas Jackals expand their reach and solidify their presence in a competitive sports market, we produced a series of branded video assets tailored for television, digital platforms, in-stadium playback, and even the video boards throughout Six Flags Over Texas.. Each piece was designed not only to promote upcoming matches but to communicate the team’s identity, values, and energy to a broader audience.
We crafted dynamic commercials that aired during regional broadcasts, built hype reels for social media campaigns, and developed custom content loops for the jumbotron and LED boards at Choctaw Stadium. For Six Flags, we reformatted key promotional spots to play seamlessly across dozens of screens inside the park, helping the Jackals tap into a broader, family-friendly fanbase.These deliverables combined game footage, custom graphics, and fast-paced editing to resonate with both die-hard fans and newcomers alike.
Whether viewed from a couch, a smartphone, or a stadium seat, our goal was the same: elevate the Jackals brand, drive fan engagement, and bring professional rugby into the spotlight.
5 | Promotional Materials & Hype Content
Bringing the spirit of the Dallas Jackals to life meant more than filming the action on the field; it meant building a full ecosystem of engaging, fan forward content that celebrated the team’s culture both on and off the pitch.
We produced a wide range of promotional videos that ran across social media, in-stadium displays, and digital ad campaigns. Some standout pieces included:
Jax’s Birthday Video – A lighthearted, family-friendly feature celebrating the team’s beloved mascot with fun graphics, energetic footage, and engagement.
Sam Golla Bobblehead Day Promo – A player-focused hype video that teased the special giveaway event, complete with cinematic shots, stylized motion graphics, and stop motion.
Icon Meals Sponsor Spotlights – Branded content that highlighted key partnerships, blending sponsor messaging with team visuals to drive visibility and value for the Jackals’ commercial backers.
In addition to these specialty pieces, we delivered game day intro videos, weekly highlight reels, and social media edits that captured the emotion and energy of the season. Each video was tailored to platform and audience - whether it was designed to ignite the crowd at Choctaw Stadium or drive clicks on Instagram.
6 | Social Reels & Weekly Recaps
In today’s media landscape, capturing attention means meeting fans where they are - and for the Dallas Jackals, that meant owning the scroll. Lone Star Drone produced a steady stream of platform-native content optimized for Instagram and other socials, helping the team stay top-of-mind between matches and grow their digital following.
Each week, we delivered quick-turnaround recap videos featuring cinematic highlights, sideline team moments, slow-motion hits, and crowd reactions - all wrapped in tight, high-energy edits designed to maximize shareability and emotional impact. These recaps gave fans a reason to relive every try, every tackle, and every celebration, even if they couldn’t be at Choctaw Stadium in person.

Over the course of the season, our content earned more than 253,000 views on Instagram alone - a testament to the passion of the fans and the power of compelling storytelling. This is in addition to the reach gained via Broadcast Commercials, Six Flag ads, paid ads as well as all of our in stadium media entertainment.
Every cut, every edit, and every frame we delivered for the Dallas Jackals was a true labor of love. While the team’s journey came to an early and unexpected end with the conclusion of their historic 2024 season, we remain immensely proud of the work we created together. Our partnership wasn’t just about content - it was about community, culture, and a belief in the future of rugby in America.
